I do believe that if you isolate the wrong side of the battery then the cut off will not work when the engine is running. This is because the alternator is still pumping out a charge. Adrian TR4A CT

Adrian is right, the cutoff won't remove electrical power if the engine is running with alternator still working. I think this is true no matter which side you isolate, if you're isolating the batte

If you have a simple two-terminal switch, I like the idea of switching the negative side, for much the same reason the manual says to do the negative side first when disconnecting the battery. That

I missed the beginning of this thread but if you intend to isolate the battery, a proper battery master switch running off the earth (ground) is the way to go. If you check the manufacturer manuals,
