The Only way to rate a compressor is by it's output in cubic feet per minute. To run nearly all air tools 14cfm is needed. To run a commercial size blast cabinet 20 cfm is needed. I run a sandblast

My best guess is that the rating is the stall current on the motor. It's not really possible to stall a compressor motor, which is why they don't blow fuses I guess. The units I am looking at have to
