I seem to have come across conflicting info with the 1500 rod at either 144 or 149 mm. Can anyone confirm the actual length of these rods? Thanks Daryl

The factory manual says 144 mm center-to-center, but that's no guarantee.

Daryl, just measured my G1500 rods. As near as I can, they are 144mm centre to centre. Regards, Graeme Suckling 1965 SP310 1971 P510 1972 PL510 1973 HS30 http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290669

Thankyou Graeme, Gordon and Carl, There are two reasons for my asking: 1. A discussion on the 311s.org site about using the G15 crank in an R16 block to get about 1800cc's. To use a stock R/U piston

The U20 specs are alredy compiled at http://www.gordon-glasgow.org/U20specs.asp. Not that I see any problem with having this info in more than one place. BTW, the term "deck height" is normally used

Hi Daryl, Deck height I can not do, engine is completely dissembled. Piston pin height is 44mm as well as I can measure However, the piston domed, which adds another 3mm to the 44mm. Regards, Graeme
