OK, Let's define terms here. If you are seeing PVC pipe only rated for 125psi it is thin-wall irrigation pipe and is illegal (most places) to even use it for water inside a building. Schedule 40 pvc

One more reason not to use PVC is that it won't condense the water out of the air like metal pipe will. I plan on using L copper and soldering the joints in my new shop. A good friend has it this way

I'm not worried about the pressure rating on PVC. What happens when your air system pressure is up, and you knock over that piece of bar stock, or even a 2x4 and it smacks that plastic. My guess is
