- Hi I have a 55 second series Chevy truck. Im thinking about installing a new wiring harness . Has anyone installed an alternator on their 235 . I have the generator still and before I buy the wiring

- The changeover is quite simple and works a lot better than a generator. You use a late '70's and early '80's alternator that has the built in regulator. On my '46 I used the original gen bracket and
