I just went through a driveline bearing / Ujoint replacement on my '49. Although our models are diffenent, I would suspect something other than the Ujoint (either tranny, driveline or rear end). My

Try putting the vehicle in neutral when the vibration is going on. If the vibration goes away the problem is drive line related. If the problem is still there then the tires or rims are the problem.

Well we made it 40 miles from home with no vibration. But had to call the rollback to pick us up. It developed a real bad leak and lost all rearend grease. I decided not to look at it anymore today.
