- the formby treatment let the coating on the wood disolve gradually, then be re applied using a tung oil base. worked well, used it once myself to repair an antique tabletop to match the original legs

- Formby products are for wood. http://www.formbys.com/products/ I'm not that sure how well they will work on Marine epoxy clear coat finish which is what I believe is on the steering wheel and dash.
