How could Triumph put the TR3A's gas line leaving the tank directly above the exhaust line? probably because you can pour gasoline directly on a hot exhaust pipe or manifold and it doesn't burn - not

The flash point is way low, like -45C, but that's not what we're interested in. The "autoignition" temperature is given as various numbers around 260-460C, but this still doesn't answer the question
