Well I decided to have a go and seem to have hit a snag. The back of the spring pan hits the chassis which is stopping the spring and damper from dropping. I undid the bump stop and jacked the pan up

Yes, the damper has to come out first. Then you put the spring compressor in it's place. That relieves the pressure on the A-arms, so you can undo the nuts/bolts and swing them up to the top of thei
