I know this is elementary, but I can't find out where to check the tranny fluid in my recently purchased TR3a. I took off the plug on top of the tranny cover but no dipstick. Any help appreciated. Ne

Ned, For transmissions without the dipstick, you need to remove the side filler plug. I believe the fluid should be added until it starts to drip out of the filler. Not that easy of a task without a

I don't know the change-over point but the dipstick was eliminated somewhere between the TR3 and the TR4. There is now a plug on the side of the transmission. The procedure is to remove the plug and

My old transmission had a plug with dipdtick on the top, and no plug on the side. As I recall, my "new" trans has the plug on the side, but I don't think it has a plug on the top - I thought it was o

I too use a rubber plug on the side of the tunnel (though I used a smaller plug - like the one above the front U-joint) but prior to having that I would fill with a 1/2" (?) OD clear plastic tube run
