IMHO, today in the USA, your best bet at even coming somewhat close to breaking even would be a TR2 or 3. But I can't say that I would consider restoring any Triumph (much less an MG) a "good invest

Great curves on early units. Runs primarily on flowers and chocolate which are much cheaper than gasoline these days. Overheating and getting steamed under pressure is still an issue, but much better
