The Moss catalog shows a felt mounting kit that serves as a "tank to floor My '59 TR3A came with one or two two x four pieces under the tank. Is this a standard workaround for whatever came out of th

Nope, the factory felt was nowhere near that thick. More like 1/8" or maybe 3/16". Sounds to me like someone has fitted the wrong tank to your TR3, or else the little pedestals it's supposed to sit

I guess I have a similar question as Terry. What pedestals? My TR2 tank sits on the felt, which I would guess to be a little thicker, 3/16" to 1/4". The felt sits on a flat shelf. But I don't recall

Randall et al, I don't have formal documentation, just empirical evidence. I checked the pictures of TS77028L, and sure enough there are pedestals where the bottom-front of the gas tank rests. The pr

Dennis, were these pedestals removable, or tack welded on? ...Or can you tell from your pictures? I'm just curious what happened to mine and whether I can source some, ...or whether it's just simpler

I just looked at an early 1958, and there are no pedestals..... Just floor. I think Randall is right about the changeover at 60K. Regards to all Bill Slightly Classics == This list supported in part
