I'd also like to mention that the center of that emblem with the "Spitfire" text is exactly the same as the 1970 "Spitfire" emblems on the rear wings of the '70 Spitfire as well. After about a decade

I am under the impression that those things faded as they aged, turning them to what appears to be a gold color. The ones I have here are the same way. Please let me know if you find out differently.
