The Mk1 has one timing mark on the pulley. It indicates TDC. You set the timing by adjusting the vernier adjustor knob on the distributor to change the timing in 1 degree increments. Start by turning

Joe is right on the mark. I might add the caution that there are are two TDC positions in each rotation of the crank. Be sure you have the one where cylinder 1 is ready to fire and not the other one.
