I had this happen to a full sized 3 D cell maglite years ago. I sent it back to Mag and they sent me a new one (free) along with a terse note to please try to change my batteries more often. ________

Clyde Stutzman I wouldn't expect Mag to replace the flashlight because the battery failed. But I would expect the battery company to replace it when their battery failed. In fact, they did just that
