I compared my new Kilmartin strap with the one shown in my original parts book for a BT7 tricarb. There is no attached washer; just the "D" washer that would be on the bottom outside of the boot floo

I don't know why that washer is attached to the bracket, but notice the difference in the ends of the bracket. The end opposite your washer is shaped to fit down behind the top curve of the fuel tan
