The original problem was disconnecting the fuel line from the tank. I ended up cutting the line with a hacksaw. The "real" damage (although slight) was done by finally removing that "nut" on the fro

If Teflon tape comes in contact with fuel, it will dissolve and go into the fuel system (try a drop of gas on a piece of tape, it only takes a second). I use a fuel tank sealant meant for the job fr

Yes, this is true, but most people (me, for instance)try the white stuff that's lying around. I was also reminded that teflon tape is really a thread lubricant and there are better sealants. Tired of
