I just bought a socket size with the 1/4 inch drive. Since I was always chasing the torque wrench with the = inch socket anyway. That way I have one socket on the torque wrench and one on the drill.

I found a set of all three (1/2,3/8,1/4) socket adapters at my local import tool place for just a few bucks (not much more than $5). Thy're not fancy and probably don't meet snap-on or craftsman stan

You can also always add a 3/8" x 1/2" drive adaptor to the 3/8" drill
