My father-in-law was raised in old Texas (by an ex Texas Ranger) He has great fondness (insert sarcasm) for mesquite. He has told me how damaging it is to human and horse when trying to drive cattle.

Back when I had a diesel I used to mix in some kerosene during the winter for easier starting. I found that many Texaco gas stations had both a kerosene and a diesel pump.

This is true, try pumping up a 100psi bicycle tire sometime, each push gets progressively harder as higher psi pushes back at you.
