The sole disadvantage of the A+ block is that it is a "thin flange" block. On the other hand, it has external ribbing and more metal in other places to make it stiffer than the standard sprite block.

If it makes a knocking noise on full throttle (esp at lower revs) then that is probably detonation (different to pre-ignition). Try adding some 104+ and see if the problem dissappears. Mike
