I have just completed an engine rebuild, and restored my heat shield by applying, on the side facing the carbs, a sheet material offered through SUMMIT Racing Products that is rated up to 1500 degree

Don't forget also that - to be perfectly correct with this process - you should be using de-ionized water for the dilution when doing it yourself. Just thought I'd complicate your thinking further. M
