I don't know about others John, but I often do this especially on a box that is non synchro in first. Even on my Alfa, you must do this to get a non crunch going into first and it is synchro'ed......

So, Scott, what was the problem? Are you using silicone brake fluid? If so, the NOS Lucas switch will not stand up to it. You need a Ron Francis SW32 which has a lower trigger point and will stand up

Pete, some times it takes around 5 minutes but as I understand it, it all depends on the time it takes to make the rounds of multiple servers but it should not take hours, unless one of them is down

TA's would have used screws. Pop rivets had not been invented at that time nor phillips head/posi screws. Someone had taken the easy way when replacing the strips along the way. Of course with things
