Here is a solution for the Miata AND all the British iron in DP 1: Leave the Miata in DP and let the class rebuild on a new platform with fuel injection and triple adjustable shocks and yes even 10"

If the shocks are three years old it is time to replace or revalve. One important thing to remember when installing the shocks it to install the little white spacer with the slit in it on the shocks.
