At last!!!!!!!! I couldn't agree more. I've tried both the soft and hard Dunlop L's on my special which being underpowered really plows it's front end and gets huge amounts of wheel spin at the rear.

That, whether good or bad is the reality of vintage racing today. A friend here in Toronto with a '57 Lotus XI LeMans has done 1:38 at Mosport...the first big race there was won by Moss in the 2.5L L

I agree wholeheartly. To a point. Up here in Canada, VARAC becomes the tail wagging the dog. When L section 13" tires were put back into production year before last we immediately mandated their use

It's not really an issue of a spec. tire as much as selection of different tires within a correct size for a given car. i.e. Radials existed in 62 so why not have a Dunlop L racing tire, a Hoosier r
