- Very clever idea. What size cork are you using? While you are replumbing, did you consider putting a cutoff valve at the bottum of the tank? Would make it easier for any future maintenance needs. Yo

- Being a 'belt and braces' kinda guy, I'd also use a flat head box nail of the proper size to attach the cork to the dowel, as well as the epoxy. I sure wouldn't want that cork to come off that dowel
