Actually, we would tend to say "spares" rather than "bits". "Bits" is mostly used to refer to the state of the car (or some major portion of it), as in "I've got the gearbox in bits at the moment". Y

More commonly "apart", as in "I've got my Stag engine apart at the moment." Randall Never use a long word when a diminutive one will do.
