- Hi Dave, I just went through the same thing a couple of months ago, I installed a new tank and new filler "tube". What I ended up doing was cutting about 1/4 inch off the "tube" , sprayed it liberly

- I am not sure what this stuff is called, but it is fairly common to "re-seal" a tank with it. I found it at a Motorcycle shop. Do you have the tank out? If so, I would go ahead and finish up the job.
