My Haynes manual says the TR6 takes 9.64 US pints. More cylinders, less oil. Quite a bargain! - Hugh /// triumphs@autox.team.net mailing list /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Arch
Well, mine's handy. 13.2 US pints from dry. Drain and refill: 12 pints. --Andy Mace "There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line." -- Oscar Levant /// triumphs@autox.team
It takes 1 qt more than the capacity of the container you put underneath to catch the oil as you drain the sump. sorry. The TR3 "book" says13.2 US pints from dry, 12 with a drain and refill. Is the T
Oil a OK, it's getting weirder. The pictures in the Moss and Vicky Brit catalogs show there IS no dipstick tube. The dipstick I have LOOKS like the one for sale for the TR4 and does not look like the
Now my TR4 seems affected. I disconnected the gauge tube at a union. Shot air into the gauge half. Sue says the gauge registers. Does not return all the way to zero. I don't remember if it ever did.
== This is a tip from Ken Gilanders a few years back and gives extra care in preventing the tube from breaking/dropping, using 2 strands of S/S wire thread it through the screen and then tie it off

Could that be six quarts with a filter change? I recall (dimly) putting five quarts in mine and getting nearly a full reading before starting the engine with a dry filter. Cheers. -- Michael D. Porte
Michael D. Porter replied : I believe so, yes. I'm using a spin-on on my TR3A, and it only takes 5.5 US quarts with a filter change. Randall /// triumphs@autox.team.net mailing list /// or try http:
