- Showing its age, my steering rack has started to slide about an inch or so from side to side when I move the steering wheel. I'm guessing that the rubber mounts have died. In looking over the replace

- The tool, as I understand it, forces the bushings as far apart as possible and compresses them in the cups on the rack. Having said that, I can tell you that I replaced my rack bushings without any

- Ron, I have done the rack bushings on GT6s and TR4. Don't recall the need for special tools. I usedlonger bolts on a temporary basis, to pull the bracket down onto the bushing and frame. Lubricated

- Hi Ron, FWIW there's a picture of the steering rack special tool in the Roadster Factory master parts book for my TR-250, pp 216,217, plate DR I'm guessing there's a similar picture in the TR-6 parts
