Atwell, Can't speak about the Spit but here is what I have found (so far) on my TR6. (I am attempting to diagnose what I believe to be a "compressed" range of my temp gauge - it only reads up to 1/4

You have forgotten one thing, which will make a difference. The voltage stabilizer. You will need to put that in the circuit to get the proper readings. This regulates the voltage to about 8 volts,

Rush out to Radio Shack and buy some then! They're very cheap. I think you can get a package of assorted types for $2.99 or so; or just buy a card with the 100's on it... around 5 cents each I think.

Thanks Andy. You are right of course. I had priced a sender from Moss .. 10 bucks. The local auto parts house wanted $25 but had to order it. Part of the fun of my LBC is the "rigorous testing" thing

You could swap your fule, and water meters. They are calibrated the same, as far as I could make out when I had mine apart. Just one says FULE E - F and the other TEMP C - H But if it's not the sende

I just installed the new sending unit for the temperature gauge, and it works fine now. So in case anyone else has this problem, the resistance of a working sender is: COLD: 1000 ohms HOT: 50 ohms Me
