Ed, I want to start by saying that IMO it's unlikely that your oil pump is the problem. 99 times out of 100, the problem is excessive clearances somewhere else (eg rod bearings, main bearings, etc.).

What does your manual say?........I think your engine is almost the same engine as the TR4 and 4A......mine says 30 wt for 40-70 deg F. and 20 wt for 10-40 deg F, and 40W for over 70 deg F.. My idea
