I've been using it for this purpose for years in both LBC's & Volvo's and have found it to be great stuff. I know that Moss sells special dashpot oil, but I've never seen any reason to use it. Does a

Dashpot oil, of course! Not that anyone really does that... I use 20w50 in mine, cuz that's what is in the oil can. Some people suggest it for lever-style shock fluid... I've never tried it for such,

According to the design specs. - 20W oil is what is supposed to be in ZS carburettor dashpots. Other things work, however. The purpose of the oil is to dampen the rise and fall of the piston. Cheers.

In SU's it's purpose is to dampen the rise, thus richening the fuel mixture when initially accelerating. Isn't it the same with ZS's. It also oscillation of the dash pot. Think of it as a shock adsor
