In a word, no. However, I'd suggest checking that the chrome parts of that pretty filter are, in fact, metal. Some of them are plastic that can crack and spray fuel around. Randall

I don't think you can get that air out nor do you need to. Once fuel is moving thru the filter that air pocket remains and is not a problem. Geo Hahn

I'll third that opinion. Those filters don't ever seem to fill up completely. they seem to always have a little air in them. I was recently warned not to leave it resting on the intake manifold of my
