Use an ohmmeter. A "6 volt" coil will measure about 1.5 ohms whereas a "12 volt" coil will measure 3 or more. Also, there will be a second wire that connects to the coil. On some models such as the 7

The brake pedal of our '76 TR6 sits about 2 3/4" below the level of the clutch pedal, and almost 1" below the accelerator pedal. It makes for some awkward pedal action, and I'd like to get it higher.
