There are several ways to wire the gear reduction starter, but they all include something connected to that spade connector. I wanted to keep the original "push button" solenoid functional, and also

Oh man, a prose electrical schematic! I'd better check in, just to be I can take the heavy cable that WAS the second post of the solenoid, and move it to share the same solenoid post with the battery

That's right, Terry. Except that the new wire doesn't need to be that heavy, 16 or even 18 AWG would do. This wire (and the original solenoid) now only carry current for the new solenoid, which as I

I hooked up my gear reduction starter as Randall described below, and turne the engine over with the starter for the first time since 1975 when this restoration project was first parked in an Ossine
