- The fluid is leaking past the internal seals and down the linkage to the pedal, then to the floor. You need a rebuild at the least, a new master at worst!

- Seems to me there's a "vent" in the transmission cover, so pressure shouldn't build up. If plugged pressure will build, and voila, leak. Clark
