Well guys it's the same problem I've seen on this list. I read all the notes and wonder if anyone wants to give me a quick comment. I remember my Tiger in the 60's not having any overheating problems

The "odds" that your temperature gauge is completely off is pretty high. You may not have the correct sender, your voltage regulator could be off the 10 volt setting, or the instrument is wrong. You

Go get a mechanical gauge and splice it in the coolant line temporarily. Autozone has one for about $14. That will give you a better reading of your temperature. I have done this and decided to keep

As a "quick easy check" of my heating gauge Steve Laifman suggested I do a rough check by using a kitchen thermometer in the surge tank and start it cold and rev it up to operating temp. Sure enough

The surge tank temperature proves nothing. The "meat thermometer" trick works only if you get the thermometer into the actual coolant flow, as you would in a conventional radiator, with a cap on one
