I would say go with the workshop manual settings, and then make sure that the timing advances to 34 degrees BTDC at about 2500 RPM. If it doesn't, something is wrong with your distributor's advance

What Theo said, 34 degrees BTDC @ 2500 rpm, is going to be very close to ideal, although +/- a couple of degrees depending on your exact setup. Since Your dual point is probably set up for 20 degree
