No, this is down inside the frame rail. What Theo says makes sense. They are remnants of the transmission support that was used in the Alpine. ML

What about the method shown in the CAT shop notes? Use a threaded rod and some large washers. This is a slick method with just about no chance of an accident. ML

As I remember from years ago there is an easy way to reattach the arms and a hard way. I think the easy way that uses much greater leverage was unbolting from the car rather than from the trunk lid.
