I thought crank trigger systems used little black boxes with electronics that would give you a curve if you wanted one. But, most advance/retard would be for going from low to high rpms so I guess yo

Yeah, you get (or make: install magnets at 90degree intervals on your crank damper, make bracket for sensor) a crank trigger kit. Then you need an ignition box something like this an MSD 8979. Plug i

Or else you use the MegaSquirt system, use Ford Escort EDIS hardware with either a custom sawtooth wheel or have your harmonic machined as one. Still not cheap. David Lieb

OK, enough blah blah blah. That car needs an Aldon dizzy with Crane 3000. Best of both worlds for $500-700, I would guess.

Aircraft piston engines which powered the Beech Barons I used to fly had fixed timing set at 28 degrees BTDC & used a "vibrator" (retarded spark) for starting. If you ever drag out that number where

OK, I'll start searching. But one thing to keep in mind about these engines, is they were essentially designed to run in a pretty narrow RPM range. They found that manifold, both intake and exhaust,

Cap'n, That won't fit his engine. There is a 123 distributor that will, but it is still in testing. For $20 more, why not get the SEL0004 with the fully-electronic vacuum advance? David Lieb

Again, we are talking about a Lotus Seven here. A REAL Lotus Seven, I think, not a replica. 123s with their built in curves would probably be very good but an Aldon properly curved with a Crane 3000
