Treat the 1316 casting just the same as the 12G940. You can block of the air holes with 1/8 27 NPT allen plugs. Your machinist can tell you if the guides are worn, he should have specs for how much

The manual clearly states " lb-in." YIKES!!! So, if I torque the pinion nut to the recommended 135 to 140 lb-ft it is definitely too tight. Now I can back off the pinion nut 'till I have 11-13 lb-in
