i have a differential unit from a 74 spit on the bench , all the bolts are loose, the allen bolts holding the output shafts are out , but i cant seperate it, using screwdrivers i can just crack it op

Have you removed the output shafts from the diff case ?. You mention you have removed the allen bolts, now pull out the shafts. The case can now be removed. Ken C '72 Spit

thanks everyone, i did try persuading the output shafts to come out, i will now try harder i was being overly cautious , i have a Haynes manual probably not the best, i am going to replace the intern
