Hello listers, with my carb rebuild winding down I'm looking to make my tach hold a steady reading. As it is now it pretty much bounces all over the place at. Sometimes its "range" is almost 3k. Can

The range is only 3K. I've seen mine bounce peg to peg for long periods of time. I got a replacement but haven't installed it yet. I've heard that you can repair them by changing the capacitor(s) ins

I don't think you will find any capacitors in Ryan's 72 tach. All mechanical. It is possible to disassemble, clean and lubricate a tach. I have done it for both tachs and speedometers. There are smal
