- Gee, that sounds like gas from a Marathon station. No matter what the octane my Spitfire would really "sputter, choke, and cough". That was back in Michigan. I haven't seen any Marathon stations here

- if your tank was down that low... you might have sucked some crap from the bottom of the tank up into the carbs.... THAT'S WHAT FUEL FILTERS ARE FOR! if this isn't the case, crap might be in your pum
