- The clunking noise is coming from the right rear of my Spit. It is most noticeable when first pulling out and is definitely related to revolutions of the wheel. Is possible to have a worn U-joint on

- Larry, before you go for u-joints, check the tightness and condition of the radius rods (a.k.a. trailing arms, with rubber bushings), vertical link, and the four bolts holding the brake backing plate

- I've had that clunking noise on my old spit-yes it was the U-joint. But I have had a clunking on Nigel and Dave checked it and it was the wheel bearings. Greased 'em up real good and no more clunk. J

- Larry, the answer is most definitely yes. ( i went through this several months ago) As far as replacing it, I would say medium difficulty level. Best way is to remove the entire axle assembly for tha
