I never had an issues when removing my spring. If memory serves me well, I removed the spring first then the rest of the rear suspension. I did have the rear supported on jack stands and the body was

The normal practice is to support the suspended parts (hub, drum, halfshaft etc.) of the side you are unbolting with a jack or such, so that the spring is not under load. This is done because it make
