- The rear retainer-bar for my soft-top has always been missing; the top is screwed on through small holes (at each snap position) drilled directly into the rear cockpit lip. I just got a retainer-bar

- Ree - I replaced my top last year and there was no adhesive used on the old one so I didn't use any on the new one. I am not sure if that is the correct way, though, but I have had no problems. Also,

- I've seen no evidence of a gasket on the three cars I've examined but I did add some foam strips under mine after a repaint. Not trying to seal anything but rather to be nice to the new paint. :-) Ch

- I see that you have had several answers to your question. Let me chime in here as I have owned my '73 since '75. I am the only person to have replaced the top on my car (in 1979). Granted that today
