Actually, the map light was an option. I believe it was available from 75 on. (I believe Robson's book list the details, bit it's at home.) That doesn't mean you can't add one if you can find one. I

I also missed the original post, but as a long time owner, the Mk IVs and US 1500s didn't have the map light until the 1500 was introduced to the ROW. At that time, the map light was made standard on

My 76 did not have one, although it had everything else option wise. So not surewhether it originally did have one, except that I picked one up for a couple of $ because it had the wire cut off. That

On my car the hole was there and there was a (red I think) wire with a bullet connector hanging down the back of the govebox. Need to check the wiring diagram for the color as I believe it was correc
