Not to be a wise@ss, but why would you bother? My original Lucas starter lasted 20+ years, the rebuilt one from Moss\LBCCARCO cost under $100, and it spins my high compression 1296 over with gusto. W

I agree that the oem units do work just fine. But there are a few advantages. Such as 5 roller & ball bearing surfaces compared to 2 bushing surfaces on oem units. As well as low cold cranking ampera

The swap was a physical bolt on. The Isuzu costs $72.99 (Autozone) with a life time warranty. You do have to change some wiring to bypass the original Starter Solenoid Wiring. Moved the original "so

I bought one from TSI for my GT6 because the heat from my headers was causing the original starter to lock up if I had to shut off the engine after a drive of only about 15 minutes and then restart.
