A "Factory" hardtop will be metal (a magnet will stick). An aftermarket unit will be fiberglass. Just take a refrigerator magnet with you...an easy test. Regards, Chad

The 'black crinkle finish' hardtop is definately an aftermarket item. The facory items were all body-colour & steel - that one is probably either fibreglass or steel with a vinyl covering Andy

Sounds like an aftermarket job (see new Rimmer catalog, there is a photo of one with black wrinkle type) anyway who cares its only going to sit in the garage or be used to help brace the roof if you

Hi Mark, I think you're correct in your identification as a factory top with later finish. I don't believe anyone produced a steel replacement, all the aftermarket tops I've seen have been fibreglass
